Privacy for consumer health tracking data.
Last updated: October 21, 2026. This policy explains how The Good Tracker handles personal information and consumer health data, including on-device storage, account sync, exports, reminders, integrations, and privacy choices.
Short version
A free account is required. The Good Tracker saves logs on your device and syncs them to your account. It does not sell personal health information. Voice and AI stay off until you agree. It is not a medical service and does not provide diagnosis or treatment.
1. Information we collect
Information you choose to save: symptoms, scale values, crashes, flares, notes, foods, medication and supplement entries, photos, voice transcripts, summaries, stool/activity/weather/session details, weight, reminders, preferences, reports, and custom tracking fields.
Founding link: /founding opens the app. We do not keep a separate waitlist. Campaign parameters on that link may stay on your device so we can remember how you arrived.
Account and sync information: email address, authentication identifiers, sync timestamps, subscription status, settings, support messages, and device or browser information needed to keep the app working.
Connected information: wearable, weather, payment, email, authentication, and app-store information if you choose to use those features or providers.
2. Consumer health data notice
The information you enter may reveal consumer health data, including symptoms, conditions, medication use, pregnancy-related information, disability-related information, pain, fatigue, sleep, mood, food reactions, activity, weight, wearable signals, and health-related notes.
Sources of consumer health data include you, your device, your browser, optional connected services such as wearables, and information generated by the app from your saved logs.
We collect and process consumer health data to provide logging, local storage, sync, export, reminders, reports, trends, AI summaries, account support, security, troubleshooting, and product improvement.
3. Local-first storage and cloud sync
The app stores data locally in your browser or device first. A free account is required, and your logs sync to that account so you can use the app across devices. Local data can still be lost if browser or device storage is cleared, so export important records.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide the app, save and sync logs, generate reports, show trends, answer your questions from your own logs, send requested reminders, manage accounts and subscriptions, respond to support requests, secure the service, debug issues, comply with law, and improve reliability.
We do not use your logs to make medical diagnoses, decide treatment, determine insurance eligibility, make employment decisions, or provide emergency monitoring.
Only save information you are comfortable storing in the app. If you use the app for another person, you are responsible for having permission to enter and manage their information.
5. AI and pattern features
Pattern features on your device use your saved logs to produce descriptive summaries, trends, and reports. These outputs are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical conclusions.
Voice and AI stay off until you turn them on.
If you turn them on, a voice recording is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to be transcribed. The check-in text you typed, or the text from that transcription, is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to be structured into a log. A question you ask about your own logs is sent the same way. Food photos and uploaded practitioner documents are also sent to Cloudflare Workers AI when you use AI to process them.
Cloudflare does not use Customer Content processed by Workers AI to train AI models.
Nothing is sent unless you turn voice and AI on. You can keep logging by typing with them off, and you can turn them off again.
AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or based on limited data. You should review anything important with a qualified healthcare professional before relying on it.
6. Sharing and service providers
We may share information with service providers that help us run the app. Depending on the features you use, that can include Supabase (account, synced logs, and photos), Vercel (hosting), Google (sign-in, if you use it), Apple (sign-in, if you use it), Open-Meteo (approximate location for weather, if you turn weather on), Stripe (payments), Resend (reminder emails, if you turn them on), and Plausible (basic product analytics that leave out log contents).
We may also share information when you ask us to export or transmit it, when needed to prevent abuse or protect security, as part of a business transfer, or when required by law.
We do not sell your personal health information. We also do not share consumer health data for third-party advertising unless we first update this policy and obtain any legally required consent.
7. Payments, app stores, and subscriptions
Payment details are handled by payment providers such as Stripe or an app store. We do not intentionally store full card numbers in The Good Tracker app.
Payment providers may send us limited information such as subscription status, transaction identifiers, plan type, renewal status, and refund or cancellation status.
8. Wearables and integrations
If you connect a wearable or third-party integration, we receive the data you authorize that service to share. You can disconnect integrations where the app provides that control or through the third-party account.
Third-party integrations have their own terms, privacy practices, retention rules, and data accuracy limitations.
9. Cookies, analytics, and device information
The app may use local storage, IndexedDB, cookies, browser APIs, log data, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, store local logs, remember preferences, measure reliability, prevent abuse, and understand basic product usage.
If we add targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising, we will update this policy and provide any legally required opt-out controls.
10. Your privacy choices and rights
A free account is required. Your logs are saved on this device and sync to your account. You can export your data from Settings. Delete my data removes logs and settings from this device and, when you are signed in, the synced copies on your account. It does not close the sign-in. Limited records may be kept for legal, security, tax, payment, or fraud-prevention reasons. Deleted logs and settings cannot be restored. You can disconnect integrations, unsubscribe from optional emails, and email support@thegoodtracker.com for account or deletion requests.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, confirm, correct, delete, export, or receive a copy of your personal data; withdraw consent; restrict certain processing; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling; and appeal a denied privacy request.
To make a request, email support@thegoodtracker.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on account, deletion, export, or sensitive-data requests.
11. Retention and deletion
We keep account and synced app data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce agreements.
If you delete local browser data, it may remove local-only logs from that device. Delete my data removes logs and settings from this device and, when you are signed in, the synced copies on your account. It does not close the sign-in. Limited records may be kept for legal, security, tax, payment, or fraud-prevention reasons. Deleted logs and settings cannot be restored.
12. Security and breach notification
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate for a small consumer health app, but no system is perfectly secure.
If we discover a security incident involving unsecured personal health information, we will evaluate notification duties under applicable law, which may include notifying affected users, regulators, or others as required.
13. HIPAA and regulated care
The Good Tracker is a direct-to-consumer wellness app and is not itself a healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse. HIPAA usually applies to covered entities and their business associates, not every consumer health app.
If we ever offer the app on behalf of a HIPAA covered entity or as a business associate, that relationship would need separate written terms and privacy/security obligations.
14. Children
The Good Tracker is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
If a parent, guardian, or caregiver helps another person use the app, they are responsible for having appropriate authority and consent.
15. International users
The Good Tracker is operated from the United States. If you use it from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate.
You are responsible for deciding whether the app is appropriate for your location and legal requirements.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app, service providers, laws, or privacy practices change. If changes are material, we will try to provide notice through the app, website, email, or another practical method.
