About The Good Tracker
What is The Good Tracker?
The Good Tracker is a free, voice-first health tracking app designed for people with chronic illness. It lets you log symptoms, food, medications, sleep, and daily patterns using sliders, quick taps, or a voice note — without the overwhelm of typical health apps. The app surfaces plain-English trends and can help you prepare for doctor appointments.
Is The Good Tracker free?
Yes. The Good Tracker is free to use with full access to logging, trends, and insights.
Do I need an account?
Yes. A free account is required. Setup asks you to sign in with Google or an email link. Your logs are saved on this device and sync to your account. The separate printable tools work without an account.
What devices does it work on?
The Good Tracker is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works on any modern browser — iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and desktop browsers. You can install it to your home screen for an app-like experience. No app store download is required.
Is my health data private?
Your logs are saved on your device and sync to your free account. The Good Tracker does not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Voice and Ask stay off until you agree. If you turn them on, a voice recording is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to be transcribed. The check-in text you typed, or the text from that transcription, is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to be structured into a log. A question you ask about your own logs is sent the same way. Food photos and uploaded practitioner documents are also sent to Cloudflare Workers AI when you use AI to process them. Cloudflare does not use Customer Content processed by Workers AI to train AI models. If server transcription is unavailable, browser dictation is handled by your browser's speech service. You can type instead. You can export or delete your data at any time.
Tracking & Logging
How do I log symptoms?
Open the Log tab and rate your symptoms on 0–10 sliders. You can also add a written or voice note, mark a crash or flare, log foods you ate, and record medications taken. The whole process typically takes under two minutes. You can log as little or as much as feels useful on a given day.
Can I use voice to log?
Yes, after you agree. A voice recording is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to be transcribed. The check-in text you typed, or the text from that transcription, is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to be structured into a log. Voice stays off until you turn it on.
What symptoms can I track?
Built-in metrics include pain, fatigue, brain fog, sleep quality, mood, nausea, and more. You can also add custom symptom fields to track anything specific to your condition. All metrics are rated 0–10, giving you consistent, comparable data over time.
Can I track food and medications together?
Yes. Each day's log includes dedicated fields for foods eaten and medications taken, alongside symptom scores. Logging them together is what makes it possible to spot correlations — like which foods precede a flare, or whether a medication change affects your fatigue scores.
What is a flare or crash flag?
A flare or crash flag is a one-tap marker you can add to any day's log to indicate it was a significantly worse day. These flags appear on your trend charts, making it easy to see patterns around your worst days — what preceded them, how long they lasted, and how recovery progressed.
Can I add custom symptoms?
Yes. The Good Tracker supports custom metric keys beyond the built-in symptom set. If you have a condition-specific symptom — like heart rate variability, tinnitus, or post-exertional malaise — you can add it as a named 0–10 slider and track it alongside the default metrics.
Trends & Insights
How does The Good Tracker find patterns?
The Trends screen displays your symptom scores over time as interactive charts, making it easy to spot upward or downward trends, recurring weekly patterns, and correlations between different metrics. The Ask feature lets you ask plain-English questions about your data — like "do my symptoms get worse after bad sleep?" — and get a direct answer.
How many days of data do I need before trends appear?
Even 7–10 days of consistent logging will start to reveal patterns. Two to four weeks gives a clearer picture of weekly rhythms and potential triggers. The longer your history, the more useful the trend data becomes — but imperfect data from a few days a week is far better than none.
Can the app tell me what's causing my symptoms?
The Good Tracker surfaces patterns and correlations in your data — it does not diagnose conditions or replace medical advice. For example, it can show you that your pain scores are consistently higher after nights when your sleep score is below 4, or that fatigue spikes follow certain foods. What you do with that information is between you and your healthcare team.
What does the Ask feature do?
The Ask feature lets you ask natural-language questions about your health data and get plain-English answers based on your logged history. You might ask "what days was my pain worst last month?" or "does my brain fog correlate with sleep?" and receive a direct, data-grounded response.
For Specific Conditions
Is it good for fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, Long COVID, or POTS?
Yes. The Good Tracker was built specifically with these conditions in mind. The built-in metrics map directly to the core symptom clusters of fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, Long COVID, and POTS — including pain, fatigue, brain fog, post-exertional malaise, heart rate issues, and sleep quality. The crash and flare flags are designed for conditions where episodic worsening is a defining feature.
Can I use it to prepare for doctor appointments?
Yes — this is one of the most common use cases. The app includes a Doctor Prep tool that compiles your recent symptom data, worst days, and notable patterns into a summary you can bring to appointments. Many users find that having organized records leads to more productive conversations with their doctors and faster diagnosis.
Does it integrate with Oura Ring or Apple Health?
Wearable sync is planned. It isn't available yet.
Privacy & Data
Where is my data stored?
Your logs are stored locally in your browser and sync with your signed-in account through Supabase. You need an internet connection for sign-in and cloud sync. Keep an export of records you want to retain before clearing browser storage.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export your health log data from the Settings screen. Exports include your full symptom history, food and medication logs, notes, and voice transcripts. This makes it easy to share data with your healthcare team, switch apps, or create your own analysis.
